WHO is dreadlight
Dreadlight is a female, alternative, hard rock duo from Portland, Oregon. Songwriters Kandra Tolvstad (Bass/Vocals) and Toria Beck (Guitar/Vocals) met in high school and began collaborating musically at 14 and 16. Coming from different musical worlds, the duo are developing a unique sound where sweet harmonies soar over heavy instrumentation, an experience pleasantly headbangable.
They have been making their mark in the Northwest scene, playing festivals like Portland Pride 2018 and 2019. They were invited to play the Seattle MoPop
Founder's Award Ceremony 2019 and shared the stage with Dave Matthews,
Mike McCready and others. In 2022, they were featured as backup vocalists on the debut album of Envy of None - Alex Lifeson of Rush's new project.
In 2019, they released a triad of EPs Limbo, Dusk, and Dawn, along with a music video for the single Grenadine. The song has since gained over 1.5M streams on Spotify. In 2023 they released the first 2 parts of a 3-part album titled Kroma
with the complete album to be released in Spring of 2024.
